Digital Tech Cumbria is offering free support for businesses, valued at £5,000 each.
The support will help businesses use digital technologies more effectively so they can be more productive and profitable, freeing owners up to do the things that really matter to them. By “digital” we mean all things technology related, whether that be implementation of a Customer Relationship Management System (CRM), support with social media or investigation in to use of more emerging technologies such as augmented reality and artificial intelligence (to name a few), Digital Tech Cumbria can help.
The support under the programme will determine each business’s level of technology-readiness, creating an action plan that outlines how else they can best use technology to improve their performance. From there, businesses can then access additional 1-2-1 consultancy to help implement their action plan, as well as benefitting from expert-knowledge, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, a Digital Skills Academy and access to exclusive Technology Showcase events with large-scale providers including Microsoft, Google, Barclays and others, allowing attendees to ‘play’ with technology and find out how it might best work in their business.
The programme is funded by local government and the European Communities Regional development Fund (“ERDF”) to support 210 businesses in Cumbria improve their performance. Andrea Hines, Programme Manager from Allerdale Borough Council said
“It’s almost impossible to significantly grow or improve a business without the effective adoption of digital technology. Digital technologies therefore present a huge opportunity to all businesses in Cumbria, regardless of their size, sector or location – the possibilities are huge.
The problem is that although most small businesses recognise the need to adopt digital technology they often struggle to find the time and don’t have access to the knowledge required. This is where Digital Cumbria will help. Our experts will enable businesses to identify what will work for them, from better use of social media, to implementing artificial intelligence that will help them understand customer behaviours better.”
The programme is being delivered by Winning Moves Ltd. Mark Modena, Director of Winning Moves said
“There is no escaping the fact that businesses who effectively adopt digital technology typically grow 30% faster and are 20% more profitable. We’re delighted to be working with Allerdale Borough Council to deliver the Digital Tech Cumbria project and support local businesses to deliver higher levels of performance. In the current climate, technology is even more important to ensuring our ongoing communications not just with our staff and customers, locally, but with our current and potential markets nationally and internationally. Covid-19 will alter behaviours and ways of working forever and it will be technology that helps facilitate that transition”.
